Discontinued products

When Dremel discontinued their belt & disc sander they continued to supply parts UNTIL they ran out. The frequenly ordered parts obviously went fast. I invested a few bucks and ordered some key parts that I figured might need replacing. I plan to do the same with my scroll saw.

Where can I get a switch?

Rumor has it that Dremel has ceased production of the Dremel scroll saw to concentrate on rotary tools. My Dremel saw is only a little over a year old; will I be able to buy parts if and when I need them? Say it aint so.

Dear All

I have previously imported a scroll saw station from States to Singapore and has been operating it with a step down transformer and i have to say it has served me well.

However, recently the saw went nutters on me (the motor will spin faster than usual). So after taking out the control board to have a look, I realised the transformer on the control board has fried.

Does anyone know the specs for that transformer (as in what voltage to what voltage?) as sending the item back to States for service is not an option.

Looking for (desperately), a Dremel 1800-01 18" Varible Speed Scroll Station with attachments ( sander and flexable shaft ) I need it as soon as possible, I am willing to pay, with in reason, anyone's price, up to $275. I am a handicapped artist who has just had my station stolen from my workshop. I am even willing to rent on till the end of Sept, 08, and pay for the shipping. I have a big Art show coming up and cannot finish my work without the station. If you are willing to only rent the station I will need to know how much you would charge daily, before I send a payment. You might say I am also a staving artist, looking to correct that position by selling at my one person show in Santa Fe, New Mexico. I would be so grateful if someone out there could help me out.

Hi all,

I have the scroll station 1830 I think, I just upgraded from the ryobi

The only trouble I seem to be having is when I put the blade in and I pull the lever to tighten the blade-it's sometimes seems to be loose --then I turn the lever to tighten it again and it's still loose--is there something that i'm doing wrong--I don't want to break the lever..could someone please help---

A very good friend of mine gave me a Dremel model 57-2 scrol saw. I would like to find a owner's/operating manual for it and a parts manual too.

I sent a request to the customer relations department here and hope that they can help me. If they can't, could someone here please make a copy of any literature that they have for it?

Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

My Stylus won't turn on!

I got this handy little tool to add to my collection of Dremels two years ago and used it once or twice. Then I broke my back and damaged my sciatic nerve and wasn't able to use the Stylus until after 3 surgeries on the back and carpal tunnel release. Took it out of the stand/charger yesterday, touched the lock and then the on switch and it seemed to work but the cutoff wheel snapped and I had to find some new ones. When the new wheel was on this morning, the lock was very hard to slide and the Stylus wouldn't turn on. I also noticed the green light on the charger blinks for 20 or 30 seconds and then goes off if it comes on at all.

My package didn't have an instruction manual. I don't know if the battery is drained or damaged or the charger is not working. I would appreciate any advice. Sleepless

New Model of scroll saw -- no sander?

Hi All,
Had been reading some on-line reviews of the Dremel scrollsaw. One of the features was a wheel sander on the side. I noticed on the newer models that the sander was not included or mentioned. Is that option discontinued?

Here is what I've done so far to try and get (DEPTH).. Left the front of the rim larger then the rear, tried a bevel cut on the rear rim..Still not happy with the out come.. Help!!!!!!! I've also added a 1/2" ply-board to my table top."Mistake" Should have used 3/4" Trying to get all I can out my blades. (3/4"+3/4")= 1-1/2" Right????

Can anyone speak to the effectiveness of the dust collecting ability of the Dremel scroll saws?

Little or nothing is said by Dremel. It is claimed on the 18 inch series that a "Dust port for dust removal" exists. I can't even find that on the 16 inch model.

A search of this forum regarding "dust collection" produces nothing of consequence. I can't possibly be the only person concerned about airborne sawdust. Other woodworking forums devote a lot of time and space to controlling this subject. Am I missing something here?

I am willing to use either vacuum or bags but if the Dremel scroll saw cannot handle some type of dust collection, I want to know about it before I buy.
