I did indeed send them an email to customer support last night. Mush to my great suprise, when I opened my email this morning, I had a very nice reply from Jim Camp who is a customer service rep at Dremel.

In the email he told me that Dremel stopped making the 57-2 Scrol Saw in the 1970's and no longer have a owner's manual for it. He did give me part numbers for the 3" blades (8030 coarse and 8029 fine) and told me that the shaft out the side is a power take off for driving a sanding disc, buffing wheel and flex-shaft attachment. he then stated the following: Following are the
catalog numbers and pricing for these available accessories:

4214 rubber backing pad (for sanding disc) $3.25
4211 arbor adapter (use with 4214) $3.55
4227 sanding discs (4" dia. coarse, 6 per pk) $3.20
4228 sanding discs (4" dia. med, 6 per pk) $3.20
4229 sanding discs (4" dia. Fine, 6 per pk) $3.20
4235 3" buffing wheel (use with 4211) $3.20
990199 complete flex shaft assembly $33.45

I'm heartened by the fact that Dremel is still a company that puts quality and customer service at the front of their business. I can't wait to start whittling wood with the 57-2.
RE: Dremel 57-2 Manual and parts list?

Kaptain,

I am not sure how you contacted the company, but if you use the following link it will take you to the Dremel literature request form. You need only fill out the information and hit submit.

www.dremel.com/en-us/customerservice/ManualsAndLiterature/Pages/default.aspx

It usually takes two weeks to get the literature from Dremel. (If the link doesn't work, you can just cut and paste it to your browser.)

Of course, you can just call them at:

Phone:
1-800-437-3635 (Toll Free)
1-262-554-1390
(7AM to 6PM CT Mon to Fri)
Fax: 1-262-554-7654

Dremel is very good about this sort of stuff. Good luck.

Dremel 57-2 Manual and parts list?

A very good friend of mine gave me a Dremel model 57-2 scrol saw. I would like to find a owner's/operating manual for it and a parts manual too.

I sent a request to the customer relations department here and hope that they can help me. If they can't, could someone here please make a copy of any literature that they have for it?

Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.
