Good Evening,

I have been having some difficulties with the sanding drum on my dremel.  The sanding tube always wants to fly off when sanding.  Its like a little dance trying to sand and keep it on the tool.  Does anyone have any suggestions.

Thanks

Links,

It sounds like the screw on the drum needs to be tightened. Turn the screw clockwise to tighten and expand the drum. This will give a better grip on the sanding tube.

If you lube the drum before you put the sanding band on you might have used a little to much and may have to wipe some off. If you didn't do as Harley said and tighten as tight as you can get it by turning the screw clockwise. In any case you will need to do that.

Thanks gentlemen. I did not know that the screw needed to be tightened. That is most likely my problem.

Thanks again,

****o, Dremel user.

Let me give you a tip , the sanding discs flies away when is finished, or used hardly at maxumun speed , be careful is dangerous.

They are the most common used accesorie from dremel but they do not last too much and are expensive.

I use  discs on top of the sanding drums . Take out the screw and the washer. Cut a one inch discs out of pet ( the plastic used on soft beverages bottles ) and a disc of sand paper ( you could start on 40 and go up to 400 sanding papers ).Place on the top of your sanding drum , thight the screw , and you will have an excelent sanding disc with almost no cost and that will never, ever fly away.

Is excellent for all kind of job. Reply if interested in pictures of pieces done exclusivly with this accesorie.
