Yes, I've seen plenty of then around here too, during mentioned past years by Lucifer. (Buenos Aires, Argentina). I understand that they had advantages in racing bikes with tubes, although I don't remember them now.

Lucifer (12/7/2007)
Kodiak (12/6/2007)
Lucifer (12/6/2007) wooden rims on my bicycle. //MartinExcuse me? Wooden rims for a bike??? Yes, it was quite common on race bikes in middle Europe in the 70's and 80's. I'll soon post about the project in dremelforum.com. As a professional wheelbuilder it's a simple task to disassemble the wheels and build them up again. The rims ar for tubular tires, so there are lot of old tubular glue left on them

I just took a look at your site. The work is wonderful. I have used the VersaPlus for engraving and woodburning designs on my daughters and grand children gifts that I made for them years ago. I just purchased a Dremel 300 series and hoping they will help me in making some of my fewelry. I make wire, clay and hemp jewelry and hope that this will take me into another level in jewelry.If you have any suggestions on how I might use my dremel 300, please let in making my jewelry, please let me know. Great work;

Hi Doug, I know you didn't write to me, but I read your post in answer to another post on "what do you do with your dremel tools". You do quiet a bit of work, but I have done nothing although I've owned my tools for almost two years now.
I have the VersaTip, MightyMite, XPR, Engraver plus the regular dremel.
I want to use the VersaTip to burn or carve a drawing of mine into a 1/2 in plywood door. My hubby and I are building an entertainment center of sorts, and I, loving to draw, wish to decorate the door. There are no books or instructions on using these tools and I'm unsure of how to start with the VersaTip. Does it burn or just cut the image into the wood to burn with another tool?
I hope I'm posting this correctly as I'm 70 and feel foolish by not understanding what most folks seem to automatically know--seems that's the way Dremel looks at it anyway, for there are very few instructions on doing anything except the Quick Start guide, and not what I need. Thanks much from Swamprosy
