Hi all Dremel Fans

I have uploaded my library of ebooks, literature and plans which may be of interest to Dremel users, all in one place. Having got so many priceless tips from the Dremel Board, this is my modest contribution to share with all Dremel fans, and specially those who ask "what do you do with your Dremels ?"

Although some of the original and very useful Dremel literature (that should, but does not always accompany all the tools and kits) has been included, not all the literature is Dremel specific. There is a goldmine of ideas and projects in the old Popular Mechanics magazines, Boys Mechanics books, Carpentry books etc. There are books on wood & metal working, making jigs and tools, and many oblique applications, like block printing on cloth, where the Dremel is the ideal tool for carving the wooden printing blocks. All the literature included is in the universal Acrobat pdf format, which is platform independent, and if you do not have the Adobe Acrobat Reader you can download it for free from the Acrobat site.

No credit is claimed for anything, and all this literature was found on the net. I have just consolidated it all in one library for handy reference and download. In some cases, where the original was spread over several html pages, I have compiled it into one single pdf file. And where several small files or a very large file is involved, it has been zipped for faster download. All copyrights (many are copyright free) belong to the original publishers.

This is an ongoing project, so check back after a few weeks, and you may find something more of specific interest to you. You can find the files stored in the library at link below.

Enjoy !!!

Sam

Hi Sam

With rapidshare.com you have to pay or wait...

Why not use http://www.scribd.com/ to publish your collection of ebooks? It is free for every one to use, and you can start your own group for your collection.

Just a suggestion

Hi Torben,

Have been using Rapidshare for several libraries, (have a paid account there, and several dozens of libraries for my various interests) ) so I used it for this DIY library as well. I have no speed problems uploading or downloading, because I can use Flashget etc. with a paid account.

Will check out the storage site you recommend, and add the URL if I can upload there.

Thank you for your suggestion - much appreciated.

Best - Sam

I have downloaded some of the files and used the free side and the wait was just a couple minutes at most. I don't really have a problem using it.

Sam:

The contents of the library look great.  I do not mind using the site since it offers a "free" option, but before I download anything I would like to understand it better.  If I download the free version, will the file delete in 90 days?  When I click on a folder, the free version states that the file will be deleted in 90 days.  How is that the case if I download it?  ALso, does the download include any potential unwanted programs with it.  Again, I love the site and am thankful that you opened it to all, but I would like to understand a bit more before I download anything on my computer.

Thanks,

Kurgan

Hi Kurgen,

Any files you download are permamently stored on your PC, till you want to delete them. Nothing happens, other than the download.

You can also upload your files, with a premium or free account on Rapidshare. (I have no interest in this, - I just use their service as I find it convenient).

If you upload your files, which are not then downloaded by you or someone else for 90 days, the files you uploaded to share will be deleted if its a free account. This is so the Rapidshare storage space is not wasted. I think that should be clear.

And all are pdf files so there is no harmful content. You can just read them.

Sam

Hi Doug, Kurgen, and everyone else who is interested

Quite a few members find the library of use - some of the most popular downloads have been downloaded by 17+ members, and total downloads now exceed 300.

Also heartening to receive contributions - Kurgen sent in an excellent one for "How to Build a Derby Car", and its up in the Library. If any other members want to contribute anything that would benefit us all, it would be most welcome. We'd need to keep it within a reasonable size (say 10 Mb max per file) so its easy to upload/download.

Just for the record, in case you have followed this thread for the library ..

Most of the library has now also been uploaded on the Mediafire site. This is a free filesharing service, that is well recomended. There is no fancy "verification" and no waiting as with Rapidshare. No nags to become a paid subscriber. You can use downloaders, and resume broken downloads.

I will upload all future files to this site. The ones on the Rapidshare site will continue to be available, but I will not add new files on the Rapidshare site. If any of the other forum members have plans, project pictures, or files they would like to share, which are too big for the forum, this site comes recomended, and is very easy to use. The site is at

http://www.mediafire.com/index.php

For convenience the files have been grouped into various sections in different directories. This will make it easier for you to find what you need. The download link to each directory for the files uploaded is given below - save it on your disk or bookmarks list if you want to get it all ..
