| I want to buy a dremel rotary tool that operates on 220 volts. The company has failed to answer my inquires. Anyone know, where in America, I can buy a rotary tool that can be plugged into 220 wiring? Cordless or corded, no matter. Thanks Dennis

The biggest, baddest hand-held grinders I know of are from Dumore, but I doubt they have 220v units.

Why are you insistent on 220 volts? If you just do not have a 110v-120v outlet available, there are options, such as step-down transformers, that don't require an electrician.

| I will take the dremel rotary tool to Thailand and they have only 220 v outlets. I don't want to fool around with a step down. They (dremel) must make a 220 don't you think?

Dremel 220 Volt probably not available in North America. Nearest source from Thailand for 220 / 240 volt is Australia.

| Hi there Dion: Here is a link for 'World Electric Guide' where you will find both voltages and used outlets in all different countries. Use this together with the info you find through Google to find out official Dremel representatives around the world and you get to the answer. I also suggest you save this link into your 'Favorites' in your explorer which gives you valuable info while traveling referred to electrical outputs overseas. http://kropla.com/electric2.htm

| Dion, following with the previous message let me tell you that I live in a country with a 220 voltage and when travelling in the US, mainly in New York I purchased many times gadgets working with 220v. You just have to order it in advance. In fact I'm actually using a really very good American 220v toaster that I got in NY in 1960!!!! You might be able to get your 220v tool in other large cities, just consider where tourists would buy something like what you need. If you live near New York your question is very probably solved. Otherwise consider also all other countries where the UK has had influence in the past. In those place you will find 220, 230 or 240 tha for the case doesn't make any difference. Have a nice trip and enjoy your Dremel!

Hey Dion, back again. I ignore where you live, but assuming you are in the US let me tell you that in Miami you surely find 220 volt items. Dremel products we buy down here in South America -and actually my Dremel 395- are made in Mexico. They are very good quality as they follow worldwide Dremel standards.

| Dion: I wouldn't lose time grumbling. Here I got you the place you need, it`s in the United States and has all Bosch tools and of course the Dremel in all its models and the rest. Here you are Dion: http://www.internationaltool.com/220vtool.html The only thing I did was to put "Dremel 220 volts" in Google and it appeared right there at the top --the first link--. And for last but not least enjoy your Dremel and have a nice trip. Good night!
