I have a Craftsman rotary tool, which, according to the Internet, was made by Dremel. The model number starts with 572. The part that connects the motor to the chuck broke today, though I hadn't really stressed it. I think it's just old.

What is this part called, and where do I get a replacement? I found this, which looks like the same thing:

About 10 years ago, I had a Craftsman cordless and that sure does look like the part that broke on mine. Unable to find a replacement part, 3 years later I threw my Craftsman in the garbage.

Go ahead and get this part. I am sure it will fit.

I also have the Sears 572-610030, and I just called Dremel and spoke to a very helpful customer service rep, who suggested I not only replace the Flex Coupling, but also another part that is inside of it, which only cost an additional $1.00!!!
The total cost for BOTH parts, including shipping and sales tax was $4.91!!! AMAZING!
Why can't ALL companies be like Dremel!!!??!!!
