I am making bracelets out of stainless steel cutlery and I was wondering if there is a way I can add text with a dremel. Can I etch stainless steel with a dremel? How would I go about adding text?

Hi Valor

Welcome to the forum.

To engrave letters on stainless steel with your Dremel, I would suggest using the diamond point bits. You can get a pack of two, which includes the #7103 and the #7144. I don't recall the part number for this package but you can usually find it where ever Dremel accessories are sold.

As for the "how to" part of your question a wealth of information can be found on this site. Although professional hand engraving is the focus od the following two sites, you can find information and techniques about layout, design and execution that can be applied to Dremel usage.

It may be necessary to register on these sites to get the full benefit, however, registration is free.

Hope this helps

One Thing Curt didn't say was practice and practice some more before you start. The dual package is #7150.

Your right Doug, I forgot to put that in.

They say that when you get old memory is one of the first two things to go..... can't remember what the other was
