I got one for xmas and it has already died the battery shorted out has I cannot get any power reading from it. I have never had any luck with rechargeable Dremels and this is no exception. Go corded if you use your Dremel extensively.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. I'd recommend reaching out to the Dremel Experts at 1-800-437-3635. They can give you instructions for sending the tool in to be repaired.

Hannah is right the folks at dremel are good to fix a problem like that.
