Recently in changing out a bad element in a hot water heater, by the time the element was out, a few problems materialized - there was mineral deposit now filling the threads and the rubber gasket had hardened and left a residue on the flange of the tank.

A wire wheel brush with my 400XPR was just the trick to clear the threads of minerals and gasket residue on the flange for a good seal for the new element.  Otherwise it could have been a knuckle-busting job.

Hi Cutnglue,

Sounds like a great application for a Dremel tool. Thanks for sharing!
