| I am a relatively new Dremel user but already I have noticed that the mandrels for some of the accessories (like sanding drums) are very short and making it impossible to reach all areas of my work surface. Does anyone know if longer mandrels are available OR if there is a way to make an extension that is safe?

Have you considered a 225 Flex Shaft? Depending of the space we are talking about, it may be suitable. Also, in a small dimension a 4486 Dremel chuck might be useful. Just throwing in some ideas ...

| Along mandrel would not be effective. You'll experience wobble, if there is the slightest amount of distortion or bending of the shaft. A tool that wobbles, could result in injury to persons or property. The tool, cutting edge, or the like, must be near the tools collet or chuck. A flex shaft is a very handy and usefull accessory, to use with the dremel tool.

| Mandrels: Go to www.razertip.com and open the catalog. Look under "sanding". There you will find the longer mandrels that you need!
