I have several minor scratches on my plastic watch dial cover. Has anyone used their Dremel for plastic watch crystal polishing? I'm guessing one of the felt polishing attachments and some type of low abrasive polish?

Thanks, Pat

Hi Pat, I have tried my Dremel on a plastic watch and it melted little dips in it.

If you get some thousand grit sand paper and hand sand the scratches out, then use a light rubbing compound, then a polishing compound, do all this by hand.

I used my Dremel drill at low speed with the felt polishing wheel and some jeweler's rouge. Then buffed with a clean felt pad. It actually came out really good. I kept checking for overheating, but it was fine at the low speed.

Thanks Doug and Hannah!

I'm glad it worked out for you. Maybe I will practice a little more and see if I can get it to work for me.
