Three years ago, both of the NiCAD batteries on my $90.00 DeWalt Cordless Screwdriver died.  At $30.00 each to replace, I looked for an alternative.  I purchased the Dremel Driver because of its compact size and light weight. The LiOn battery voltage was comparable to the Dewalt, and I thought it could do a comparable job.  I found that the Dremel Driver is superior in all aspects to the DeWalt.  It has more driving power for a much longer time, is easier to handle, and does away with clutches, folding handles, etc in a simple uncomplicated tool.  After 3 years of hard use, my Dremel Driver stopped working.  On the advice of a Dremel tech consultant, I sent my out of warranty tool back to Dremel for repair.  Dremel promptly sent me a new Dremel Driver to replace my inoperable one which was one year out of warranty.  Dremel sets a standard that the rest of the world should emulate.  I bought my first Dremel Moto-Tool in 1968 to use in my model railroading hobby.  I have been a satisfied Dremel user since then.

Hi Doug;  I am an electrical contractor, and I receaved the Dremel Driver as a gift two years ago.  I kept it in my toolpouch and used it daily.  WOW!  The design and power in such a small package, and I only had to charge it every 1 to2 weeks. clearly this tool deserves to be rated for comercial and industrial use.

Now for my problem, about 6 months ago I was dismanteling a lightswitch when I pulled my dremel from my tool pouch I lost my grip and it fell, it must have landed just right, the front black part of the caseing snaped off and there lay my dremel next to a pile of gears. I was shoked and horified I know this tool was made better than that.

So do you think this is repairable or covered under warenty, Ive searched for a replacement but no one seems to be carrying them any longer.Well thanks for your time hope to here from you soon.

Try sending your driver to Dremel for repair. Mine stopped working one full year after the warranty ran out, and Dremel still replaced it for me with a new one at no charge.
