I have a MultiPro Dremel, Model 395, can I use this Dremel in place of the Stylus? I would like to do more decorative projects.

Yes I don't see any problem using it in place of the stylus. The only thing is the stylus is cordless and has a better grip to it.

You might try using a flex shaft with your 395 it will give you better grip.

I agree with Doug, I have never bought a flex shaft for my 395 (keep it for handheld jobs and just yesterday got the plunge router base)because I bought a purpose made Flex drive Dremel(model # escapes me right now) as my first Dremel and after 20 yrs it's still going strong.  I use mine for carving and shaping small woodeparts for intarsia projects. A Flex Drive is outstanding for many projects.

For one thing it never gets hot to hold like the handheld motors can if run for  a long time.

It gives you better range of motion and gets into tighter places.

Definately try it, I think you will like it!
