Hi,
I haven't used my dremel in quite some time and came back to find that the shaft is a bit rusty and I can't change bits because the collet nut won't turn. I've tried adding some liquid wrench to the shaft but that hasn't helped.
Can anyone offer any advice?
I was hoping to get some projects done around the house.
Thanks in advance.

| I was going to suggest WD40, but Liquid Wrench should do the same. The only suggestion that I have would be constant pressure. Clamp the Dremel down and attach a vise-grip to the collet, then tie some weight to the vise-grip and let that pull on it for a day or two. Other than that, do you know anyone with bigger muscles than you?

lol!!
Do I know you??? I must since you seem to know I have NO strength whatsoever
The scenario you outlined sounds good, the only problem being I don't have the tools.
I'll get one of my male cousins to come over and lend me some muscle.
Thanks!

| Newbie, I suggest you look at the listing under "Product Issues" dated 9-14-09, which deals with the stuck collet issue and does a great job of explaining how to solve the problem. Don't get too discouraged when you have a little problem because there are plenty of answers on this message board , or someone who has had the problem and overcome it. Dremel is a great tool(all of them), but they also need a little TLC from time to time and neglect can create problems too. Good luck ! Woodcutr
