| I was using my dremel 1680 scroll saw all was fine. Changed the blade to make a cut and now it won't turn back on. The light works fine. Before this problem the saw was a little hesitant to come on. Like I would push the switch on and the saw wouldn't come on immediately but would come on a few seconds later. Any ideas of what could be the problem? Thanks.

| 1. Well, I swapped the wires from the light over to the saw switch and the light didn't come on. So, then I put the saw wires on the other switch and walla came on. Where can I get a replacement switch? 2. That still doesn't answer why there is a hesitation on start up. Is that hesitation normal?

Glad you found your problem, I don't own a saw so the only help I can give is for you to call customer service. I am sure they can answer your questions and maybe even get you a switch.

Previous post & answer
I just purchased a model 1680 scroll saw and I have a question about its operation. When I turn on the motor there is a 1-2 second delay before the motor starts working. I have also noticed that as the motor comes up to speed (which
happens quickly) there seems to be a hesitation. At first I though the switch was
faulty. It acts just like the switch contacts are slow to close, and then when they do
the vibration of the arms starting up momentarily jars the contacts open. The saws this behavior is too consistent for that explanation. Is this caused by the speed circuitry or do I have another problem to deal with? ANSWER: This is normal it what they call a soft start and allows you to get both hands on the work before the motor starts.
