Dremel is introducing a new rotary tool attachment called the Dremel Shield to protect users from debris and sparks. We want to touch base with our fans and consumers to determine what package they would like to purchase our new attachment as a part of. We have three options available. Please take a look and let us know which one you would be most likely to purchase.

I don't use facebook myself but considering how I have a large collection of bits already I'd probably go with the top one that is tool only. Besides I'm willing to bet that the grinding stone and wire brush are probably ones that any of the larger accessory sets and probably a number of the tools (note to self find time to update set listing on database) so probably a lot of people would have them as it is.

Hi,

Same here. I find the 1st and 3rd the more cost effective, but as I already own most of the bits in set 3 I will most certainly go for the shield only package.

The same type of shield for the flexible shaft (225) would also be a must have as you tend to work with the shaft closer to the face.

Kodiak

I do not share Facebook info indiscriminately but will respond to your question with #1 or #2 - I can always use another EZ Lock shaft Smile

This would be good for any Cutting , Grinding and especially Polishing Bits - polishing mops covered in Rouge always spray everywhere .

I would recommend set on each one.

Angry  This Grandma gave children Dremel sets of Pistol Grip Screwdriver/Drill with twin chargers couple of years ago.  We all love Them!  Now this year Grandchildren are old enough to begin using them.  Grandma checks the big box stores...NONE TO BE FOUND!  Grandma gets online to Dremel website & NONE TO BE FOUND!  GRANDMA IS FURIOUS!  WHAT'S HAPPENED TO DREMEL??  THESE WERE MY FAVORITE TOOLS, KIDS LOVED THEM TOO.  I'M NOT INTERESTED IN YOUR REPLACEMENT TOOLS.  For those of us with carpal tunnel syndrome & other various arthritic issues, the pistol grip Dremel Drill & Screw Driver were a Godsend.  I buy/redo old, old, houses & believe it or not, we use Dremel 90% of the time.  Discontinuing Dremel is Grinching my Christmas!  I'm hoping the different colors gets the attention of an executive with some decision making powers to realize the mistake Dremel has made.  Please understand, there are more people who use tools than those persons who give the big "macho" impression of needing power.  There is a market for the pistol grip tools, but Dremel needs to be more agressive in trying to reach this market.  Yea, lotza people think they are "toy" tools.  Aparently persons with this attitude need to realize that not everyone has the physical ability to hold the large heavy tools.  Dremel was wonderful to send a replacement drill when we could not get the bit out & it was most probably my fault that it was improperly inserted.  We were totally sold on Dremel until now........now I have to spend time in big box stores on my fragile feet seeking a replacement when my beloved tools no longer work.  Believe me, I loved these tools.....

70somthing Grandma who lover the screw driver & drill

Abolutely superior customer service!!!!! I didn't have to send in tool or repair shop to have it fixed, they send brand new one + shipping label to return my broken tool. Cost was $0.00. Much better than Craftsman, Makita. Will highly recommend under any circumstances. Thank you Dremmel, your at the top of the list. We gave 4 sets as Christmas presents & have heard nothing but good things from users. Your doing everything right Dremel, don't change. Both wife & I grab a dremel due to it's light weight & strong torque & dependability. We both have carpol tunnel problems & the smaller size tools allows easier access to tight spaces & doesn't wear out our aching joints or create sore muscles. We are in our senior yrs, have several rental properties, & do most of the work ourselves. We are novices.

Unfortunately this is one of the tools that Dremel opted to discontinue.

I had a small similar size SKIL that gave out about a month beyond the warranty. Their response was for me to buy a new one! I never would have rec'd that response from Dremel. By that time, Dremel had pulled the plug. I keep watching craigslist, Essex, Big Lots and small family run hardware stores hoping to find one.
