This dremel multi-max 6300 has proved to be a horrible tool! I bought one from the homedepot a while back and it overheated. Exchanged it for another one. The tool gets way to hot anyway if you use it for more than a minute or so. Im a handyman and had hopes it would last but the bits chew up super fast and are just WAY too expensive for what little metal it takes to make them.

Bottom line, poor design and over priced attachments. Not feasible for anyone other than a random hobby user….

****o this is Beth from Dremel Customer Service.  I am truly sorry that you have had trouble with your MultiMax.  I hope that you haven't decided to just "let the tool" lay around in your garage at this point... it does have a two year warranty on it, and Dremel is here to assist you.  Please contact our Customer Service Department at the phone number I have provided to find out how to have the warranty handled.  The tool shouldn't be getting "Hot" on you... only if you are covering the vents with your hands... so, please, check to see where the placement of your hands are.  I can contest to the MANY projects that my husband and myself have done with this tool ourselves, from cutting oak baseboards, to shimming doors, to even removing dried glue from off the cement flooring of where he works!  It's an awesome tool... please, give us a call!  We can be reached on our toll free phone number of 1-800-437-3635, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am -6:00 pm, CST.  Have a great day!

I have the 6300 Multi-Max and used it in the renovation of the house we purchased in November of 2009.  I used it to cut all the door jamb and casings for all doors (10) and closets and frequently had to cut the the 2x4 plates on the floor to allow for the installation of the hard wood flooring.  I also had to cut the plwood floor in several places and made numerous cuts in the kitchen area.  Surprisingly I only used two blades so I can not complain about the quality of the blades.  I now have the MM40 because I like the extra power and quick blade change feature.  The key to using it is to let the machine do the work and not try to force it.  For the price of the tool it is unbeatable.
