****o this is Beth from Dremel.  The 4200 is one of our newest tools.  If you are looking for brushes for this, then for the time being, I would recommend you call our Dremel Service Center to purchase these.  The number on them is #2610024715.  We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover.  You can call us on our toll free phone number of 1-800-437-3635, Monday-Friday, 7:00 am - 6:00 pm, CST.  Any of us would be happy to assist you.

****o this is Beth from Dremel.  I believe what you are asking is if we have brushes for some of the "older tools?"  If so... yes... we do.  In order to supply the correct brushes to your model then we will need to have the model number right off of your tool.  The best thing to do is to call us direct and have the tool in your hand should we have further questions for you.  Please call Dremel Customer Service on our toll free phone number of 1-800-437-3635, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm,CST.  Any of us would be more than happy to assist you. Thank you for your question.

So...here's a fun one, My father and I have always bought Dremel and I finally bought one used but in very good condition and I noticed the brushes needed replaced. Now I went to a local ACE hardware to buy some brushes they only had one type I now see there are different types for other models. The sales men and I talked for a bit and they looked to be the same size and he said they should be fine. I brush got really hot and brunt my hand after unplugging and letting it cool off. I found that the brush had turned and melted inside the Dremel. I had many projects and I bought over $200.00 in extras after buying this. Now Can I FIX This or is it shot, I can't really afford going and buying one b/c everyone I see will come with everything I already bought for this one. can someone Help. Thinking of going over to Craftsman next week and seeing there line up. Thx Jon

****o Jon:  I'm sorry to hear that you were misguided with the brushes for your older tool.  Remember this... Dremel has been in business for over 80+ years, so the tools will take various types of brushes.  When in doubt... please call us to assist.  A customer can ALWAYS get the brushes through us direct, so please call our Dremel Customer Service Department for assistance.  As far as the tool you have that is now now working properly because of the wrong brush installation, I would still highly suggest you send it into Dremel.  Once received here, the technicians will evaluate it and then call you with a cost of a repair.  If they are unable to repair it, then they will offer to sell you a reconditioned model, with a one year warranty, at a very good price.  (This would be just the tool... not a full kit!)  If you have any further questions, please call our Dremel Customer Service Department on our toll free phone number of 1-800-437-3635, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, CST.  Thanks so much!

There is a company called Gyros who makes a really nice tool, and they've got really good parts support as well. Seems like Dremel and Bosch both have decided to go the "disposable" route with their tools. I prefer to buy certain products that I can maintain and service on my own, (especially power tools). It might not be so bad if the pricing was inline with a disposable tool, but if you want to command a premium price, then at least give me a premium tool, and enclose a parts schematic in the paperwork!

Dear jonstreet, this is Beth from Dremel.  Per the last time I wrote to you, I had highly suggested that you send your tool into us for warranty, it sounds to me like you haven't done this yet.  Again, I would encourage you to, rather than allowing the warranty to run out on it.  As far as getting a schematic for your tool... as always, if you need one, or assistance with your tool, or any questions, then again, I would suggest you call our Dremel Customer Service Department.  We'd be happy to mail out the schematic to you.  Feel free to reach us on our toll free phone number of 1-800-437-3635, Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm, CST.  Thanks!
