| I am new to woodworking, and have started making marble game boards. I was using dremel and a bit, to drill the marble holes, but have ended up burning my dremel tool up. I was wondering if anyone could offer some advise on router bit size and type for a 5/8 inch, 1/4 inch deep circle.

| Several factors are missing in your post. What kind of wood are you using? What speed are you using and which drill bit? I would suggest that you drill the holes with a regular high speed drill with a depth limiter on it, then finish the edges of the 5/8 inch hole with your Dremel. If there are several holes, use a drill press. Burning out something, to me, sounds like too high a speed was used.

Check out www.rockler.com. They carry bits for marbles and pegs as well as gameboard templates.

If you experience burning on your material or bits, ease up on the speed.
my 2 cents......
